Acne: What is it about?
Acne is one of the most common skin problems that affects all teenagers. Acne shows up as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and deep painful custs. Acne most commonly occurs on the face but can also appear on the back, chest, shoulders, buttocks and neck. While in most teens, acne clears up after few years, many suffer from permanent scarring and pigmentation of the skin.. Acne is considered as a serious problem, not only for its scarring effects but also for its emotional ones that can be devastating such as depression, isolation, low self-esteem, etc... Many factors contribute to the severity of acne, including spices, certain diets, stress and hormonal imbalance.
What kind of acne do I have?
Acne consists of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, pustules and nodules. It can be one or more of 4 grades:
Grade I:It is mild and consists of whiteheads and blackheads.
Grades II: It is considered moderate and consist mainly of pimples.
Grade III: It is more severe and pustules star to appear.
Grade IV: It is quite severe and consists of pustules and large nodules. Sometimes it is associated with pain.
